Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

    2. Caution: In order to avoid being burned, do not service the engine while it is still hot. Service the engine when it is cool.

  2. Place a drain pan under the oil filter adapter.

    3. Object Number: 48326 Size: SH
  3. Remove the engine oil cooler lines mounting bolt from the oil filter adapter assembly.
  4. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the oil filter assembly.

    5. Object Number: 48327 Size: SH
  5. Remove the engine oil cooler line to engine bracket bolt.
  6. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the engine bracket.

    7. Object Number: 414590 Size: MH
  7. Remove the lower engine oil cooler line from the radiator. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Pipe/Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Remove the upper engine oil cooler line from the radiator. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Pipe/Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  10. Remove the engine oil cooler lines, through the hood opening.
  11. Clean all of the components with a suitable solvent. Dry the components with compressed air.
  12. Inspect the following for damage or distortion:
    13. • The connector fittings
    • The connectors
    • The engine oil cooler lines

Installation Procedure

    Important: Inspect the cooler line for a damaged or missing plastic cap. If the plastic cap is damaged or missing, replace it with a new plastic cap.

  1. Install the engine oil cooler lines, through the hood openings.
  2. Install the upper engine oil cooler line to the radiator. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Pipe/Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  3. Raise the vehicle.
  4. Install the lower engine oil cooler line to the radiator. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Pipe/Hose Quick Connect Fitting .

    5. Object Number: 48327 Size: SH
  5. Install the engine oil cooler lines to the engine bracket.

    6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Install the engine oil cooler line bracket bolt.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the engine oil cooler lines to the oil filter adapter assembly.
  8. Install the engine oil cooler line bolt to the oil filter assembly.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  9. Run the engine. Inspect for leaks.
