- Inspect the fluid level and inspect the fluid condition.

- Do not run the vehicle if the fluid reservoir is empty. Prolonged
usage without fluid will damage the pump.

- Fluid other than what is recommended can damage the seals.

- Ensure that no dirt, brake fluid, engine oil or any other contaminant
other than the recommended fluid is present.

- It may be necessary to perform the following if other fluid is
evident:

| 5.1.  | Completely disassemble the pump. |

| 5.2.  | Completely disassemble the gear. |

- Clean all the suspected areas thoroughly before inspecting if
the leak is not obvious.

- Inspect the pump.

- Inspect the gear.

- Inspect the hoses for cuts.

- Inspect the hoses for loose clamps.

- Inspect the hoses for loose fittings at the pump.

- Inspect the hoses for loose fittings at the gear.

- The point where fluid is dripping is not necessarily the point
where the system is leaking. Identify the exact point of the leak. Refer to
External Leakage Check
