Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 283979 Size: SH
  1. Remove the compartment lid trim. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1,2) from the back - up light assemblies. The back - up light assemblies are contained within the compartment lid applique. [VEHICLE SPECIFIC]
  3. Remove the compartment lid applique fasteners (7).
  4. Remove the compartment lid applique (3).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 283979 Size: SH
  1. Install the rear compartment lid applique (3).

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the compartment lid applique fasteners (7) in order to secure the compartment lid applique to the compartment lid.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the applique fasteners to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  3. Connect the electrical connectors (1,2) to the back - up light assemblies.
  4. Install the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to [ADD LINK].
