Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning in the Preface section.
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
 
- Apply and release the brake pedal 20 times to deplete the hydraulic brake booster accumulator reserve.
 
- Using a suitable tool, remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir.
 
Discard the brake fluid into an approved container.
- Release the fluid level sensor electrical connector (6) from the bracket.
 
- Remove the fluid level sensor electrical connector bracket bolt and bracket.
 
- Remove the master cylinder reservoir bolt (1). 
 
- Remove the master cylinder reservoir roll pin (2).
 
- Remove the master cylinder reservoir (3).
 
Note: 
|    •  | The grommets for the brake master cylinder should remain in the brake master cylinder body. | 
 
|    •  | There are 2 different size grommets. The 2 outer grommets are larger than the center grommet. | 
 
- Remove the grommets (4) and (5), if necessary.
 
Installation Procedure
Note: Apply a small amount of CLEAN brake fluid to the grommets before installation.
-  Install the grommets (4) and (5), if removed.
 
- Install the master cylinder reservoir (3). 
 
- Install the master cylinder reservoir roll pin (2).
 
- Install the fluid level sensor electrical connector bracket.
 
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the fluid level sensor electrical connector bracket bolt and tighten to 
8 N·m (71 lb in).
 
- Install the fluid level sensor electrical connector (6) to the bracket.
 
- Install the master cylinder reservoir bolt (1).
 
Tighten
 Tighten the bolt to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir. Refer to 
Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling.
