Tools Required

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

1. Tilt the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting .
2. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .



3. Remove the condenser inlet hose bolt (3) from the condenser.
4. Remove the receiver dehydrator. Refer to Receiver Dehydrator Replacement .
5. Remove the condenser fan. Refer to Condenser Fan Replacement .



6. Remove the condenser mounting bolt (1).



7. Remove the condenser mounting bolts (1).
8. Remove the condenser from the vehicle.

1. If replacing the condenser add refrigerant oil. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .
2. Install new O-rings. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
3. Install the condenser into the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




4. Install the lower condenser mounting bolts (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).




5. Install the condenser mounting bolt (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

6. Install the condenser fan. Refer to Condenser Fan Replacement .
7. Install the receiver dehydrator. Refer to Receiver Dehydrator Replacement .



8. Install the condenser inlet hose bolt (3) to the condenser.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

9. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
10. Leak test the fittings of the repaired or reinstalled components using the J 39400-A .
11. Lower the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting .
