Tools Required

1. Remove the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .
2. Insert J 42640 into the lower shroud.




Important: Place the steering column in the center position.

3. Put the steering column and J 41352 into a vise.



4. Use a small screwdriver to pull the filler plug out of the bottom of the lower shroud.



5. Insert the small screwdriver into the filler plug hole in the bottom of the lower shroud.
6. Use the screwdriver to push up on the manual override of the electric park lock (1).
7. Turn the key to the lock position. Remove the key.



8. Remove the 2 pan head tapping screws (1) from the lower shroud (2).



9. Remove the lower shroud (1) from the upper shroud in the following way:

9.1.	Tilt the lower shroud down.

9.2.	Slide the lower shroud backward in order to disengage the locking tabs.




10. Remove the 2 TORX® head screws (1) from the upper shroud (2).
11. Remove the upper shroud (2) from the steering column.



12. Remove the black connector (2) from the electric park lock (1).



13. Pry the electric park lock (2) off of the lock module assembly (1).
