Steering Wheel Replacement Buick

Tools Required

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.



2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflator Module Replacement .
3. Remove the nut (3).




Important: Observe the mark on the steering shaft and on the steering wheel in order to ensure proper alignment during installation.

4. Remove the steering wheel, using the following tools:

•	The J 1859-A

•	The J 38720

5. Use the correct side screws for pulling the wheel.

1. Route the wiring through the steering wheel.



2. Align the mark on the steering wheel with the mark on the shaft.
3. Install the steering wheel.
4. Install the nut (3).
5. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflator Module Replacement .
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.

Steering Wheel Replacement Oldsmobile

Tools Required

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflator Module Replacement .



3. Remove the nut (3).
