Did you perform the Power Mirrors System Check?

  1. Set the mirror select switch to the left.
  2. Use a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) in order to backprobe the power mirror switch terminal M and terminal B.
  3. Place the power mirror switch in the left position and then in the right position.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Disconnect the left outside power mirror connector.
  2. Connect the DMM between terminal A and terminal B of the left outside power mirror connector.
  3. Position the power mirror switch to the left and then to the right.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Connect the DMM between the left outside power mirror connector terminal B and ground.
  2. Position the power mirror switch to the right direction.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair the open or the short to ground in CKT 81 (WHT). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Set the select switch to the left outside power mirror.
  2. Use a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) in order to backprobe the following terminal:
    3. • The power mirror switch terminal 15 and terminal 11 (Oldsmobile)
    • The power mirror switch terminal M and terminal B (Buick)
  3. Position the power mirror switch to the left and then to the right.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Disconnect the left outside power mirror connector.
  2. Connect the DMM between terminal A and terminal B of the left outside power mirror connector.
  3. Position the power mirror switch to the left and then to the right.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Disconnect the memory seat/mirror module connector C1.
  2. Connect the DMM between the memory seat/mirror module connector terminal D6 and ground.
  3. Position the power mirror switch to the left position.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

Repair the open or the short to ground in CKT 1516 (LT BLU). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Connect the DMM between the memory seat/mirror module connector terminal D11 and ground.
  2. Position the power mirror switch to the right position.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair the open or short to ground in CKT 1512 (WHT). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Connect the memory seat/mirror module connector C1.
  2. Use DMM in order to backprobe the memory seat/mirror module connector C3, between terminal A and terminal B.
  3. Position the power mirror switch to the left and then to the right.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V
