  1. Disconnect the fuel door release switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp between fuel door release switch connector terminal A and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 4

  1. Test the F/DR REL fuse.
  2. If the fuse is OK, repair the open or short to ground in CKT 740 (ORN).

Is the repair complete?

Go to Fuel Filler Door Release System Check

Connect a test lamp between fuel door release switch connector terminal A and terminal B.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

  1. Inspect for proper terminal contact at the fuel door release switch connector.
  2. If the contact is OK, replace the fuel door release switch.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Fuel Filler Door Release System Check

  1. Disconnect the fuel door release actuator connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp between actuator connector terminal B and ground.
  3. Install the fuel door release switch.
  4. Activate the switch.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the fuel door release actuator terminals A and B.
  2. Activate the fuel door release switch.

Does the test lamp light?

Test for an open in CKT 79 (PNK).

Is the repair complete?

  1. Inspect for proper terminal contact at the fuel door release actuator connector.
  2. If the contact is OK, replace the fuel door release actuator.

  1. Inspect G302 for proper terminal contact.
  2. If the contact is OK, repair open in CKT 1050 (BLK).

  2. Connect a test lamp between release switch connector terminal A and ground.

  1. Inspect for proper terminal contact at the Release Switch connector.
  2. If the contact is OK, replace the release switch.

  1. Disconnect the Fuel Door Release Actuator connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp between actuator connector terminal  B and ground.
  3. Install the Fuel Filler Door Release Switch.
  4. Activate the switch.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the Fuel Door Release Actuator terminal A and terminal B.
  2. Activate the Fuel Door Release Switch.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Inspect for proper terminal contact at the Fuel Door Release Actuator connector.
