The trunk release system contains the following components:
| • | The fuel door/trunk release switch |
| • | The driver's door switch |
| • | The driver's door module (DDM) |
| • | The rear integration module (RIM) |
| • | The trunk release relay |
| • | The rear compartment lid release actuator |
The RIM operates the relays when it receives a class 2 message from
the DDM. The RIM will then verify that the vehicle is in park before releasing
either system.
The valet switch is used as a manual override for the system and must
be closed in order for the release systems to work properly.
