Go to Cigar Lighter Inoperative

1. Connect a test lamp between the accessory power receptacle load circuit and a good ground.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

Connect a test lamp between the accessory power receptacle load circuit and the accessory power receptacle ground circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 8

Inspect for power connections at the accessory power receptacle. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Symptoms - Wiring Systems

Go to Step 6

Replace the accessory power receptacle. Refer to Floor Console Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

Repair the open or high resistance in the auxiliary power outlet load circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .
