This bulletin is being issued to revise DTC P0443 in the Engine Controls-3.5L sub-section of the Service Manual. Please replace the current information in the Service Manual with the following information.

The following information has been updated within SI. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.

Steps 2, 5 and 6 of the diagnostic table have been revised for the 2001 Aurora as follows:

2	Idle the engine at the normal operating temperature. With the scan tool, command the solenoid to 50 percent and then to 0 percent. Do you hear or feel clicking from the EVAP purge valve when the purge solenoid is commanded to 50 percent?	Go to Step 3	Go to Step 4
5	Connect a test lamp between the control circuit of the EVAP purge solenoid and the coil side feed circuit of the EVAP purge solenoid. With a scan tool, command the EVAP purge solenoid to 0 percent. Is the test lamp illuminated?	Go to Step 8	Go to Step 6
6	With a scan tool, command the EVAP purge valve to 50 percent. Does the test lamp illuminate or pulse when the purge valve is commanded to 50 percent?	Go to Step 9	Go to Step 7

Is the test lamp illuminated?

With a scan tool, command the EVAP purge valve to 50 percent.

Does the test lamp illuminate or pulse when the purge valve is commanded to 50 percent?

Go to Step 9
