  1. Disconnect the inoperative outside rear view mirror connector.
  2. Position the selector switch to the inoperative outside rear view mirror.
  3. Connect a test lamp between CKT 1496 (YEL) cavity C and ground.
  4. Move the switch to the UP/DOWN and RIGHT/LEFT positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Replace the inoperative power outside mirror. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement .

    • For the left outside rear view mirror, inspect for an open in the following circuits:
       - CKT 1496 (YEL)
       - CKT 89 (LT GRN)
       - CKT 81 (WHT)
    • For the right outside rear view mirror, inspect for an open in the following circuits:
       - CKT 1496 (YEL)
       - CKT 889 (PPL/WHT)
       - CKT 881 (RED/WHT)

Is an open present?

    • For the left outside rear view mirror, repair an open in the appropriate circuit:
       - CKT 1496 (YEL)
       - CKT 89 (LT GRN)
       - CKT 81 (WHT)
    • For the right outside rear view mirror, repair an open in the appropriate circuit:
       - CKT 1496 (YEL)
       - CKT 889 (PPL/WHT)
       - CKT 881 (RED/WHT)

Replace the outside rear view mirror switch.
