Makes 🢒 Oldsmobile 🢒 2003 🢒 Bravada - 2WD 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 4.2L 🢒 Engine Oil Level Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

    2. Object Number: 637677 Size: SH
  2. Remove the engine oil pan drain plug and drain the engine oil.

    3. Object Number: 687450 Size: SH
  3. Remove the engine protection shield mounting bolts.
  4. Remove the engine protection shield.

    5. Object Number: 803540 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the engine oil level sensor.
  6. Remove the engine oil level sensor mounting bolt.
  7. Remove the engine oil level sensor.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the engine oil level sensor.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the engine oil level sensor mounting bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil level sensor mounting bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the electrical connector to the engine oil level sensor.

    4. Object Number: 687450 Size: SH
  4. Install the engine protection shield.
  5. Install the engine protection shield mounting bolts.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the engine protection shield mounting bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the engine oil drain plug.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil drain plug bolt to 26 N·m (19 lb ft).

  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Fill the crankcase with the proper quantity of engine oil. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities and Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations in Maintenance and Lubrication.
