1987 FIRENZA AND CUTLASS CIERA MODELS EQUIPPED WITH 2.OL 4 CYLINDER (VIN CODE 1) OR 2.8L 6 CYLINDER (VIN CODE W) ENGINES

Some 1987 Firenza and Cutlass Ciera models equipped with 2.0L (VIN Code 1) or 2.8L (VIN Code W) engines may exhibit a higher than normal level of catalytic converter odor during vehicle operation. Vehicles affected are as follows:

Firenza: 2.0L (VIN Code 1) - 1987 model vehicles built before VIN HK320062 2.8L (VIN Code W) - A11 1987 model vehicles

Cutlass Ciera: 2.8L (VIN Code W)-All 1987 model vehicles

This condition can be corrected by installing a service catalytic converter as specified below:
