Did you perform the Instrument Cluster System Check?

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

1. Fasten the driver's seat belt switch.
2. Disconnect the Body Control Module (MALL) connector C2.
3. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.

Is the FASTEN BELTS indicator on?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 6

Check for a short to B+ on CKT 234 (YEL).

Is the circuit shorted?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair CKT 234 (YEL).

Is the repair complete?

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

Repair or replace the instrument cluster.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

--

1. Connect SBM connector C2.
2. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
3. Connect a scan tool.
4. Use the BCM (MALL) Data List Outputs Function on the scan tool in order to turn on and off the FASTEN BELTS indicator.

Does the indicator turn on and off when commanded?

Replace the BCM (MALL).
