The lip seals seal the rotating shafts. The lip seals require special treatment. This type of seal is used on the following components:

Complete the following steps if there is a leak in one of the above areas:

1. Inspect the sealing surfaces.
2. Thoroughly clean the sealing surfaces.
3. Replace the lip seal(s).

Replace the shaft if you find very severe pitting.

If the corrosion in the lip seal contact zone is slight, clean the surface of the shaft with a crocus cloth.

Replace the shaft if the leakage does not stop after you clean the surface with a crocus cloth.
