The intermediate shaft is loose.

Repair or replace the intermediate shaft. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.

The steering gear is loose.

Tighten the steering gear mounting bolts. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

The tie rods are loose.

1. Inspect the tie rods for loosness or wear. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .
2. Replace the inner or outer tie rods as needed. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement .

The wheel bearings are loose.

Replace the wheel bearing. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Bearing Replacement in Front Suspension.
