Was the Interior Lights Dimming System Check performed?

Go to Interior Lights Dimming System Check

1. Release the parking brake.
2. Shine a bright light at the ambient light sensor.
3. Turn the ignition switch on.
4. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
5. Turn the I/P lamp dimmer switch past the MAX position (first detent).
6. Disconnect the I/P lamp dimmer switch electrical connector.

Did the VF displays (radio, PRNDL, odometer and heater-A/C control-CJ2 only) get brighter?

Replace the I/P lamp dimmer switch. Refer to Instrument Panel Multifunction Switch Assembly Replacement for service procedure.

Repair short to B+ in circuit 308.
