Removal Procedure
- Remove the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine
Electrical.
- Open the front door.
- Remove the front door conduit. Refer to
Front Side Door Conduit Replacement
.
- Support the front door.
- Remove the front door
body side hinge bolts with help from an assistant.
- Remove the front door with the help of an assistant.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front door
with the help of an assistant.
- Support the front door.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Important: Use Loctite® Blue GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent prior to
the fastener installation.
- Install the body side door hinge bolts with the help of
an assistant.
Tighten
Tighten the body side door hinge bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).
- Remove the door support.
- Install the door conduit. Refer to
Front Side Door Conduit Replacement
.
- Adjust the front door. Refer to
Door Adjustment
.
- Install the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine
Electrical.
