The instrument cluster transmits data on the Class II serial data link. If the instrument cluster detects a short to B+ instead of its own transmitted message, this DTC will set.
The instrument cluster detects a short to B+ in circuit 1036.
| • | The instrument cluster stores DTC U1301 in memory. |
| • | The SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicator turns on. |
| • | Under all fault conditions, the ignition switch must be cycled from on to off, back to on before this DTC can change from current to history. |
| • | The instrument cluster detects its own transmitted message. |
| • | A history DTC will clear after 100 drive cycles if the condition for this DTC is no longer present. |
| • | Use a scan tool. |
The following conditions may cause an intermittent malfunction to occur:
| • | An intermittent short to B+ in circuit 1036 or circuit 1132. |
| • | The instrument cluster is shorted to B+ internally. |
