Removal Procedure
   •

  • Clean the water pump mating surface.
    •    • 
  • Clean the water pump.
    •    • 
  • Inspect the water pump shaft for looseness.
    •    • 
  • Inspect for a loose impeller on the water pump shaft.
    •    • 
  • Inspect for a loose hub on the water pump shaft.
    •    • 
  • Inspect for coolant leakage from the water pump shaft.
    •    • 
  • Inspect for coolant leakage from the water pump shaft bearing.
    •    • 
  • Inspect the water pump impeller vanes for damage.
    •    • 
  • Inspect the water pump impeller for corrosion.
    •    • 
  • Inspect the water pump mating surfaces for nicks.
    •    • 
  • Inspect the water pump housing for corrosion.
    •    • 
  • Inspect the water pump housing for porosity.
    •    • 
  • Inspect for coolant leakage from the water pump weep hole.
    •    • 
  • Repair or replace the water pump as necessary.
