DEFINITION:
The BCM sounds the key in the ignition reminder when one or more of the following
conditions are present:

| • | The driver's door is closed. |

- Make sure the I/P dimmer switch is off.
- Turn the ignition switch on.
- Lower the driver's window (to prevent lockout).
- Close all the vehicle doors.
Are the courtesy lamps off?

- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Connect a scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Turn the ignition switch on.
- Using the scan tool, monitor the key in the switch input.
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- While monitoring the scan tool, remove the key from the ignition
switch.
Does the scan tool indicate that the key in input is no with the key
removed from the ignition switch?

- Make sure the key is removed from the ignition switch.
- Open, then close the driver's door.

- Disconnect the BCM connector C1.
- Using a test light, connect between B+ and the BCM connector C1
terminal D1.
