Squeaks and rattles are caused by improperly controlled relative motion between components. The following three methods are used to prevent squeaks or rattles:
| • | Attach the components securely in order to eliminate any relative motion during operation. |
| • | Separate the components in order to prevent contact during vehicle operation. |
| • | Insulate the components in order to prevent squeaks or rattles that are caused by relative motion between the components. |
| Low uniform friction surfaces can be provided in order to eliminate stickslip motion. |
