Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Removal

1. Open the power sliding door.

Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
3. Use the J 38778 in order to unsnap the pillar mounted striker push-in retainers from the pillar.



4. Remove the pillar mounted electrical contacts from the pillar.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the pillar mounted striker.

1. Connect the electrical connector to the pillar mounted striker.



2. Install the pillar mounted electrical contacts to the pillar.
3. Install the push-in retainers in order to secure the pillar mounted striker to the pillar.
4. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
5. Perform the reinitialization procedure. Refer to Power Sliding Door (PSD) Re-Initialization .
