Water Sets on Top of Rear Window Weatherstrip or Sliding Side Door Weatherstrip (Remove Weatherstrip Lip)

Some customers may comment that the rear window weatherstrip or the sliding side door weatherstrip gets water on top of it.

1. Remove the weatherstrip.



2. Using a razor blade, remove a 20 mm (3/4 in) long by 2.5 mm (3/32 in) deep piece from the tip of the weatherstrip that sets against the glass. Refer to the illustration.



3. Reinstall the weatherstrip so that the parting line on the weatherstrip is at the lowest most forward location of the door glass opening. Refer to the illustration.
4. Verify grommet is seated properly by doing a water test.
