Preliminary Procedures

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
2. Remove the engine shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement.
3. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
4. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement.
5. Remove position 1 exhaust temperature sensor. Refer to Exhaust Temperature Sensor Replacement - Position 1.
6. Remove the exhaust oxygen sensor. Refer to NEED CELL LINK.
7. Remove the exhaust heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Heat Shield Replacement.

Exhaust Particulate Filter Securing Fastener (Qty: 4)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

1. Release the 2 exhaust particulate filter to sump fasteners.
2. Release the 2 exhaust particulate filter to block fasteners.

Tighten
23 N·m (17 lb ft)

Exhaust Particulate Filter Fastener (Qty: 3)

Procedure

1. Release the exhaust particulate filter to exhaust manifold clamp.
2. Release the exhaust particulate filter to exhaust pipe fasteners.

Tighten
20 N·m (15 lb ft)
