Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the catalytic converter from the turbocharger. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement.
2. Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Replacement.
3. Remove the secondary air injection outlet pipe. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Pump Pipe Replacement.
4. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation tube from the oil level tube.

Engine Wiring Harness

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

1. Remove the wiring harness connectors.
2. Remove both fasteners.

Tighten
20 N·m (15 lb ft)

Secondary Air Injection Check Valve Fastener

Tighten
65 N·m (48 lb ft)

Secondary Air Injection Check Valve Fastener (Qty: 3)

Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)

Tip
Use a NEW gasket.

Tighten
65 N·m (48 lb ft)

Camshaft Cover - Left Side

Procedure

1. Remove the ignition coils - bank 2. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement - Bank 2.
2. Remove the camshaft cover - bank 1. Refer to Camshaft Cover Removal - Bank 2.
3. Install the camshaft cover - bank 1. Refer to Camshaft Cover Installation - Bank 2.
