For 1990-2009 cars only
- Lift the lever boot up from the center console, carefully with a suitable tool.
- Ensure the transmission are in the PARK position.
- Release the shift control cable adjustment lock cover (1)
- The shift control cable and cable end are free to slide to proper adjustment.
- Ensure the shift lever are in the PARK position.
- Depress the shift control cable adjustment lock (1) to lock the adjustment.
- Inspect the operation of the starting system with the shift lever in each position. The engine should only crank when the lever is in the PARK or NEUTRAL position.
