Preliminary Procedure

Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement.

Differential Clutch Valve Fastener (Qty: 2)

Warning: The hydraulic pressure in the differential clutch is very high. To prevent personal injury, wait for at least 10 minutes before removing any parts from the differential clutch.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

1. Lower the rear axle assembly as far as the valve can be removed. Take care that the drive shaft universal joints are not damaged. Refer to Rear Axle Replacement.
2. Remove the electrical connection.
