Caution: Always use the proper automatic transmission fluid listed. Using incorrect automatic transmission fluid may damage the vehicle.

Preliminary Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Place a drain pan under the transaxle to catch any spilled transaxle fluid.
3. Remove the right front wheel drive shaft. Refer to LINK.
4. If equipped with an axle seal dust cover, discard it and do not replace it.
5. Clean the seal bore in the transaxle housing.
6. Inspect the transaxle fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check.
