Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.

Brake Pipe Fitting

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tip

    • Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
    • Use a flare nut wrench on the brake pipe fitting and a backup wrench on the brake hose.

Tighten
18 N·m(13 lb ft)

Brake Hose Retainer

Brake Hose Fitting Bolt

Tighten
40 N·m(30 lb ft)

Brake Hose Fitting Gasket (Qty: 2)

Procedure

Install NEW gaskets. DO NOT reuse the brake hose fitting gaskets.

Rear Brake Hose

Procedure

Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
