The rear compartment lid release system is composed of the following components:

•	The rear compartment lid release switch

•	The rear compartment lid release actuator

•	The Rear Integration Module (RIM)

•	The Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM) w/CJ2 (CCP) w/C67

•	The Remote Function Actuator Module (RFA)

•	The trunk release relay

•	The key FOB

Pressing the rear compartment lid release button opens the rear compartment provided that the gear shift lever is in PARK or NEUTRAL.

Pressing the rear compartment lid release button on the Key FOB opens the rear compartment provided that one of the following is true:

•	The ignition switch is in the OFF position.

•	The ignition switch is in the RUN position and the gear shift lever is set to PARK.
