Removal Procedure
- Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer
to 
Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement 
 in Engine Mechanical.
 
- Remove the upper filler panel, if necessary, to gain access to the individual
coil being serviced.
 
- Remove the ignition coil cover from the cam cover by lifting straight
up, if equipped.
 
- Disconnect the ignition coil wiring harness electrical connector from
the coil that needs to be replaced.
 
- Remove the ignition coil retaining bolt.
 
- Carefully remove the ignition coil assembly.
 
- If removal of all the coils are necessary, disconnect
the main coil wiring harness at the cam cover.
 
- Remove the coil assembly bolts and studs.
 
- Carefully remove the ignition coil assembly.
 
Installation Procedure
- Carefully install the ignition coil assembly.
Ensure that the spark plug seals are in position.
 
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the ignition coil assembly retaining bolts and studs.
 
Tighten
Tighten the ignition coil assembly retaining bolts and studs to 10 N·m
(89 lb in).
- Connect the main coil wiring harness at the cam
cover.
 
Important: Ensure that the spark plug seals are in place when installing the ignition coil.
- Install the ignition coil.
 
- Install the ignition coil retaining bolt.
 
Tighten
Tighten the ignition coil retaining bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Reconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.
 
- Install the ignition coil cover to the cam cover.
 
- Install the upper filler panel, if removed during disassembly.
 
- Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to 
Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement 
in
Engine Mechanical.
