J 42059 Cigarette Lighter Socket Remover

1. Remove the cigarette lighter from the lighter housing.



2. Remove the console trim plate (1). Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement .
3. Remove the cigarette lighter fuse. Refer to Electrical Center Identification Views in Wiring Systems.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the cigarette lighter socket.
5. Remove the lighter socket by performing the following steps:

5.1.	Insert one side of the T-portion of J 42059 into the tab window.

5.2.	Angle the other side of the tool into the opposite window.

5.3.	Pull the lighter socket straight out of the mounting hole.

1. Install the cigarette lighter socket by performing the following steps:

1.1.	Align the socket ribs in the indents in the trim ring.

1.2.	Push the socket straight into the mounting hole.

2. Connect the electrical connector to the cigarette lighter socket.
3. Install the cigarette lighter fuse. Refer to Electrical Center Identification Views in Wiring Systems.
4. Install the console trim plate (1). Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement .



5. Install the cigarette lighter to the lighter housing.
6. Test the operation of the cigarette lighter.
