Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the accelerator control cable from the accelerator pedal.
  2. Push the accelerator control cable through the bulkhead grommet.
  3. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 158273 Size: SH
  4. Loosen the accelerator control cable locknut (1).

    5. Object Number: 158276 Size: SH
  5. Rotate the throttle lever (1) to the wide open position.
  6. Remove the cable end from the slot in the throttle lever.

    7. Object Number: 158280 Size: SH
  7. Remove the accelerator control cable (1) from the cable bracket.
  8. Remove the accelerator control cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 166628 Size: SH
  1. Install the accelerator control cable to the cable bracket.
  2. Rotate the throttle lever to the wide open position.

    3. Object Number: 166631 Size: SH
  3. Install the cable end (1) into the slot on the throttle lever.
  4. Push the accelerator control cable through the bulkhead grommet.
  5. Connect the accelerator control cable to the accelerator pedal.
  6. Adjust the accelerator control cable. Refer to Accelerator Cable Adjustment .
