For 1990-2009 cars only
- Clean the flywheel in solvent.
- Dry the flywheel with compressed air.
- Inspect the flywheel for the following:
Caution: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.
| • | Damaged ring gear teeth |
| • | A loose ring gear or a ring gear in the wrong position |
| • | The ring gear has an interference fit onto the flywheel and should be positioned completely against the flange of the flywheel |
| • | A scored, grooved, or damaged friction surface |
