Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 2101852 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  3. Remove the starter solenoid terminal nut (1).
  4. Remove the positive battery cable (2) from the starter.
  5. Disconnect the engine harness connector (4) from the starter (3).

  6. Remove the starter bolts.
  7. Remove the starter.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1648192 Size: SH
  1. Position the starter to the engine.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the starter bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  3. Connect the engine harness connector (4) to the starter.
  4. Install the positive battery cable (2) to the starter. Ensure that the anti-rotational tab is correctly located into the indexing slot.
  5. Install the starter solenoid terminal nut (1).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
