Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2008 🢒 G6 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Controls and Fuel - 2.4L 🢒 Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1571236 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector (3).
  2. Remove the oil level indicator tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 1578421 Size: SH
  3. Remove the positive battery cable nut (2) from the starter solenoid.
  4. Remove the positive battery cable (3) from the starter solenoid.

    5. Object Number: 1578475 Size: SH
  5. Remove the CKP sensor bolt.
  6. Remove the CKP sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1578475 Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the CKP sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the CKP sensor.
  3. Install the CKP sensor bolt.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the sensor bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 1578421 Size: SH

    Important: Ensure that the engine harness terminal (4) is still installed on the starter solenoid.

  4. Install the positive battery cable (3) to the starter solenoid.
  5. Install the positive battery cable nut (2) to the starter solenoid.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector (3).
  7. Install the oil level indicator tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Replacement .
