Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement 1st Design

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1889700 Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the mass airflow (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.

    3. Object Number: 1838002 Size: SH
  3. Remove the air cleaner housing rear bolt.
  4. Reposition the air conditioning (A/C) condenser and evaporator tube clamp as required.

    5. Object Number: 1890353 Size: SH
  5. Remove the A/C compressor and condenser line clip (2) from the air cleaner tab (1).

    6. Object Number: 1838005 Size: SH
  6. Remove the air cleaner assembly from the upper tie bar.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1838005 Size: SH
  1. Install the air cleaner assembly to the upper tie bar.

    2. Object Number: 1890353 Size: SH
  2. Install the A/C compressor and condenser line clip (2) to the air cleaner tab (1).

    3. Object Number: 1838002 Size: SH
  3. Position the A/C condenser and evaporator tube clamp as required.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the air cleaner housing rear bolt.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the MAF/IAT sensor.
  6. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .

Preliminary Procedure

Remove the mass airflow (MAF) sensor. Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor/Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement.

Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Procedure

Loosen the clamp in order to slide the duct off.

Tighten
4 N·m (35 lb in)

Air Cleaner Bolt

Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)
