Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2008 🢒 G8 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 2.8L, 3.0L, 3.2L, or 3.6L 🢒 Oil Pump Suction Pipe and Screen Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.

    2. Object Number: 1958662 Size: SH
  2. Remove the oil pan scraper bolts (1).
  3. Remove the oil pan scraper (2).

    4. Object Number: 1958664 Size: SH
  4. Remove the oil suction pipe to oil pan retaining bolts (1).
  5. Remove the oil suction pipe (2).

    6. Object Number: 1958666 Size: SH

    Important: The oil suction pipe seal (1) is a single use component and must be discarded whenever the oil suction pipe (2) is removed.

  6. Remove the oil suction pipe seal (1) from the oil suction pipe (2).

    7. Discard the oil suction pipe seal (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1958666 Size: SH
  1. Install a NEW oil suction pipe seal (1) onto the oil suction pipe (2).

    2. Object Number: 1958664 Size: SH
  2. Install the oil suction pipe (2).

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the oil suction pipe to oil pan retaining bolts (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the oil pan scraper (2).
  5. Install the oil pan scraper to oil pan retaining bolts (1).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan scraper bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.
