Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2006 🢒 GTO 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 6.0L 🢒 Oil Filter, Adapter, and Pan Cover Installation

    Object Number: 1408904 Size: SH
  1. Install a new oil filter bypass valve (436) into the oil pan, as required.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the oil filter fitting (438).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the oil filter fitting to 55 N·m (40 lb ft).

  3. Lubricate the oil filter seal with clean engine oil.
  4. Install the oil filter (437).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the oil filter to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Install the oil pan drain plug (430) and O-ring (429).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1651006 Size: SH
  6. Install the gasket (433), cover (434), and nuts (452).

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
