Important: Use the J 35616-A Connector Test Adapter Kit in order to inspect or
probe a terminal in a diagnostic procedure. Use of the J 35616-A prevents
the following conditions:
| • | Damage to the terminal. |
| • | Insufficient terminal contact tension. |
Refer to Checking Terminal Contact in Wiring Systems if terminal contact
seems insufficient.

- Disconnect the automatic transaxle control (BTSI) connector.
- Use a test light in order to backprobe between the BTSI connector
terminal E and ground.
- Press the brake pedal and observe the test lamp.
Does the test light go off when you press the brake pedal?
