Intermittent malfunctions are difficult to accurately diagnose. The following method attempts to isolate an intermittent malfunction, especially a malfunction in the wheel circuitry:
| • | The Antilock Brake System (ABS)/Traction Control System (TCS) warning lamps do NOT illuminate during the ignition cycle when a MAGNASTEER® malfunction is detected. |
| • | The diagnostic trouble code stores when the malfunction occurs. |
| • | The history data of the DTC stores at the time the malfunction occurs. |
