Paint Delamination from Rear Door Trim Panel (Inspect/Replace Door Trim Pad)

Some customers may comment that the paint is coming off the rear door.

Dealers are to inspect the rear door trim at pre-delivery inspection using the following procedure.

1. All in stock vehicles identified by the VINs in this bulletin should be inspected and, if necessary, replace door trim pad prior to the customer taking delivery.
2. Apply a piece of masking tape to the bottom of the door as shown in the illustration above.
3. Remove the tape and inspect for any paint particles on the tape.
4. If there was no delamination, return the vehicle to stock.
5. If the tape shows signs of paint delamination, replace the door trim pad following Door Trim Panel Replacement-Side Rear Door, SI Document ID #875278.
