Removal Procedure
- Remove the instrument panel (I/P) insulator. Refer to 
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
.
 
- Disengage but do not remove the connector position assurance (CPA) on the connector.
 
Disconnect the electrical connector (2).
- Remove the screw and discard.
 
- Remove the brake pedal position sensor and discard.
 
Installation Procedure
Important: DO NOT reuse the sensor or bolt. Always use a new sensor and bolt.
- Position the sensor fork to the pin.
 
- Install a NEW sensor. 
 
Rotate the sensor in order to align the sensor locator to the hole in the extension bracket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install a new brake pedal position sensor screw.
 
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connector (2).
 
Engage the CPA. The CPA will not engage if the connector is not attached
properly.
- Calibrate the sensor. Refer to 
Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration
 .
 
- Install the I/P insulator. Refer to 
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
