Tools Required

    • J 39686 Input End Play Check Tool
    • J 8001 Dial Indicator Set

    Object Number: 15535 Size: SH
  1. Install the J 39686 into the case barrel and install the post.

    2. Object Number: 11854 Size: SH
  2. Locate the J tab on the input shaft (604). The arrow on the tab should have a 90 degree orientation.
  3. The washer must rest flat on the case cover seal. Rotate the threaded shaft clockwise until tight. Leave enough space for the collar.
  4. Insert the collar. Install the J 8001 .

    5. Object Number: 11855 Size: SH
  5. Push down on the handle and check the end play.

    6. Specification
    The end play specification is 0.10-0.85 mm (0.004-0.033 in).

    If the measurement is out of the specification range, determine the appropriate selective thrust washer (522) for installation upon reassemble.

  6. Remove the dial indicator and the post.
