Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to 
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle 
 in General Information.
 
- Remove the right side engine splash shield in order to gain access. Refer
  to 
Engine Splash Shield Replacement 
   in Body Front End.
 
- Place the drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any draining 
  power steering fluid.
 
- Remove the return hose from the power steering
  gear cooler pipe.
 
- Lower the vehicle.
 
- Remove the drive belt. Refer to 
Drive Belt Replacement 
 in Engine Mechanical - 3.4L.
 
- Remove the inlet hose from the power steering
  pump.
 
- Remove the inlet hose from the hose retainer.
 
- Remove the inlet hose.
 
Installation Procedure
- Install the inlet hose.
 
- Install the inlet hose to the hose retainer.
 
- Install the inlet hose to the power steering
  pump.
 
- Install the inlet hose to the power steering
  gear cooler pipe.
 
- Install the right side engine splash shield. Refer to 
Engine Splash Shield Replacement 
 in Body Front End.
 
- Lower the vehicle.
 
- Install the drive belt. Refer to 
Drive Belt Replacement 
 in Engine Mechanical - 3.4L.
 
- Fill the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to 
Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations 
 in Maintenance and Lubrication.
 
- Bleed the power steering system. Refer to 
Power Steering System Bleeding 
.
