Folding Clock Spring Rivet

Tip
Drill out the rivet.

Outboard Spring

Tip
The spring has minimal tension when the top is in the stowed position.

Inboard Spring

Tip

    • The inboard spring has minimal tension when the top is in the raised position.
    • The inboard spring is larger in diameter than the outboard spring.
    • The inboard/outboard springs have opposite winding.

Procedure

Drill out the rivet to remove the springs.

Procedure

  1. Spring has minimal tension when top is in stowed position.
  2. Remove the spacer.

Inboard Spring

Tip

    • Inboard spring has minimal tension when top is in raised position.
    • Inboard spring is larger in diameter than outboard spring.
    • Inboard/Outboard springs have opposite winding.
