Preliminary Procedure

Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement.

Steering Wheel Nut

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
37 N·m (27 lb ft)

Steering Wheel

Procedure

1. Disconnect the electrical connectors as needed.
2. Remove the steering wheel using puller J 1859-A with puller legs J 36541-A .
3. Make an alignment mark to note the relationship between the steering wheel and the steering shaft. The marks will be needed to align the wheel during installation.
